Fashion is about self-expression. To me, freedom means being able to express yourself freely. Fashion is defined by how you carry yourself with poise and self-confidence. I’ve never been afraid or ashamed to admit that whenever I wear something that exposes or shows more of my skin. I don’t care about on what other people would think of me. I’m the woman who is about to defy stereotypes and encourages other women to live up to their own standards.

Just like Cara Delevingne’s outfit at the 2021 Met Gala, where she arrived wearing a vest with the words ‘Peg the patriarchy’ written across the front. The message “Peg the patriarchy” in a bold red lettering was about women’s empowerment” and gender equality.

Joy from the famous kpop girl Red Velvet, who is wearing a t-shirt with the phrase “We Should All Be Feminists,” is another artist I admire for being outspoken and brave in her stand for feminism, especially given how conservative South Korea is toward women. She expresses herself, and despite the backlash from Korean netizens, she persists in her efforts to end the double standard and hypocrisy. In a misogynistic world, she hoped to make a difference and allow women to freely express themselves and be confident in their own fashion.
I’ve always believed that the more we accept who we are and rely less on our physical attributes, the more empowered we become, and that our fashion should not be defined by this. It is limitless. I was outspoken and direct when it came to being my own fashion that whatever I wore made me feel so empowered and confident. The weight of other people’s opinions does not define who I really was and It’s time to let go of what has been holding you back and remember what Coco Chanel once said: “Everyday is a fashion show, and the world is your runway.” Express yourself. Be your own standard and do you.
